Die Form Ohne Ornament book
Die form ohne ornament (Form without ornament) was the first in the series Bucher der form (Books on form). The series contained critical essays and images of products that exemplified what the DWB considered examples of preeminent modern industrial design.
Counting Peter Behrens, Richard Riemerschmidt, Josef Maria Olbrich and Josef Hoffmann among its founding members, the DWB was an association of German architects, designers and industrialists who supported new forms that demonstrated an understanding of materials and technologies in mass production and considered ornament indulgent and unnecessary.
